OSAR Solutions, or “OSAR”, is a minority owned and operated small business enterprise that was started in November 2015. Mr. Damon Suggs is the CEO of OSAR. The Company is in Newark, NJ. OSAR delivers expert procurement services to its private and public sector clients supplying industrial equipment, medical devices, emergency COVID-19 PPE supplies and industrial uniforms and heavy-duty wear.
They started as a client with the NJSBDC at Rutgers Newark in November 2017, 2yrs. after they were established. Working closely with the Center’s procurement/certification consultant Ms. Jinni Rock Baily, OSAR has been able to get their SBE, MBE and the federal Disadvantage Small Business certifications. With receipt of these certifications OSAR has been able to secure contracts totaling approximately $1,500,000 million from the City of Newark NJ Health and Community Wellness (supplied PPE essentials during Covid); Newark Sanitation Department (supplied Waste Receptacles and Recycling Bins City of Newark Traffic Department (Galvanized Signposts); Hudson County NJ (Medical Essentials) and City of Philadelphia (Medical Supplies).
They are now working with the Center to secure their ISO 9001 certification through the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) is a private, non-profit organization that administers and coordinates the U.S. voluntary standards and conformity assessment system to further their International Trade endeavors and the Center has been instrumental in facilitating this process with referrals & research. In addition, they are also pursuing other professional certifications with ASQ.
The client will also be participating in the RBS Student Experiential Learning Program this Fall in Digital Marketing. The Rutgers Business School (RBS)/SBDC Experiential Learning Program is designed to provide MBA and/or undergraduate business students in their junior or senior year of study at RBS campuses (Newark & New Brunswick) in the departments of Accounting; Supply Chain Management; Marketing and Management & Global Business the opportunity to engage in experiential learning using a Problem-Solving Approach to small business case study clients in Northern & Central NJ.
